Students from the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, the Red Flags team, won the Best Team Award at the international innovation and entrepreneurship competition in synthetic biology, the 2nd Kechuang–Liuyehu Synthetic Biological Manufacturing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The competition was organized by the Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and took place on January 16, 2026, in Hunan Province, People’s Republic of China. The event is organized with the aim to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the biomanufacturing industry and to serve as a platform for international knowledge exchange among young researchers.
The Red Flags team was led by Ms. Vanessa Goeyardi, Mr. Pradchapon Dechakorn, and Mr. Panut Singkorapoom from the International Bachelor of Science Program in Biotechnology (BBTech). The team was selected as Thailand’s representative for this competition, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kuakarun Krusong, Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University.
The BBTech Program is an international undergraduate program in biotechnology operated by the School of Integrated Science (SIS), Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University. The program has been gaining increasing attention and aligns with global trends in sustainable development, with biotechnology serving as a key foundational technology.
