The 46th Chulalongkorn University Staff Sports Competition for the year 2026 is a major sporting festival for the Chula community, promoting health and strengthening unity among staff from all faculties and departments. Held under the theme “Chula Creates: Health for the People,” the opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the plaza of the Royal Statues of King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) and King Vajiravudh (King Rama VI).
At 9:09 a.m., the president officiated the lighting of the auspicious flame using sunlight. He then led the torch run from the front of the royal statues, passing the torch to university executives, faculty members, and representatives of various units, who continued the relay through key locations on campus to the Chulalongkorn University Sports Stadium, amid a lively and enthusiastic crowd of Chula personnel.
After the torch procession reached the stadium, the flag of the Staff Sports Competition was raised to the top of the flagpole. A representative of the athletes then lit the cauldron, officially marking the opening of the 46th Chulalongkorn University Staff Sports Competition for the year 2026.
The 46th Chulalongkorn University Staff Sports Competition for the year 2026 is held from January 5 to March 6, 2026, featuring competitions in 25 sports. Members of the Chula community are invited to watch and cheer for the athletes in the various events.
