Chula–Cornell Explore Medical Research Collaboration 

Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President, welcomed a delegation from Cornell University, United States. The delegation was led by Prof. Michael G. Stewart, MD, MPH, Senior Associate Dean for International Affairs and Affiliations at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Prof. Thanakorn Jirasevijinda, MD, a specialist in pediatrics. The meeting, which took place on February 11, 2026, at the Reception Room, 7th Floor, Chamchuri 4 Building, focused on academic collaboration between the two institutions in medical education and research.

Representatives from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, also took part in the discussion, including Prof. Dr. Unnop Jaisamrarn, Senior Executive Advisor for Corporate Communication; Prof. Dr. Naricha Chirakalwasan, Vice Dean for Corporate Communication; Prof. Dr. Nijasri Charnnarong, Vice Dean for Academic Services and International Education; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parit Mekaroonkamol, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication.

The discussion aimed to further strengthen the existing partnership between Chulalongkorn University and Cornell University while exploring new academic and research opportunities. Particular emphasis was placed on the Cornell–Chula Power Grant program, as well as potential future initiatives such as faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and the development of medical education programs. 

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
