During the event, an overview of the Chula Care Platform was presented
by Assoc. Prof. Nattachai Srisawat from the Faculty of Medicine and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jirayudh Sinthuphan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Asian Studies. The university also introduced its health researcher database, “Chula Care Catalyst,” presented by Dr. Wasin Laohavinij, Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Information Technology Systems and Deputy Head of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine. The database serves as a key component of the platform, supporting researcher discovery, networking, and research collaboration.

The event also featured panel discussions led by prominent researchers on various topics, including the following:

  • Adult Dengue and Dengue Vaccines: Challenges for Public Health Policy
  • Demographic Crisis and Elderly Well-being
  • Kidney Health and Nutrition for All: Screening, Prevention, and Environmental Sustainability
  • Global Futures for Child Health, Well-Being, and Inclusive Development
  • “Cancer-Free Thailand” Initiative

These discussions reflect the strong potential of Chulalongkorn University’s research network to integrate interdisciplinary knowledge in advancing sustainable healthcare system development.

Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, stated that modern healthcare development requires integration across multiple disciplines, including science, technology, and social sciences. The Chula Care Platform serves as a central mechanism to strengthen researchers, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and elevate networks to the national level. The platform aims to drive high-quality, high-impact research aligned with national development strategies.

Chulalongkorn University Vice President Prof. Dr. Pornanong Aramwit explained that the platform was established in line with the university’s vision to address societal needs across all dimensions. To date, the university has launched seven research platforms to systematically support collaboration and maximize research impact. The initiative focuses not only on increasing academic publications but also on fostering deep collaboration, co-creating knowledge, and producing research outcomes with practical applications. Partnerships extend beyond the university to government agencies, private sector organizations, and multidisciplinary experts at both the national and international levels.

According to Assoc. Prof. Nattachai Srisawat, the Chula Care Platform integrates knowledge across diverse disciplines to address increasingly complex health challenges. It functions not merely as a research support tool but as a strategic mechanism for building collaboration among researchers, faculty members, and both domestic and international partners to develop impactful innovations.

The platform’s operations are structured around four key strategic clusters:

  • Tropical medicine and infectious diseases
  • Aging, health, and non-communicable diseases
  • Well-being and cancer research
  • Health social sciences research

Its objectives include promoting integrated research, developing large-scale national-impact projects, establishing strong data systems and collaborative networks, and elevating the university’s research capacity to international standards. The strategic plan spans from network building and flagship research development to translating research outcomes into real-world societal applications.

The Chula Care Platform represents a significant milestone for Chulalongkorn University in building a health research infrastructure that connects knowledge, technology, and collaborative networks to create long-term positive impact on healthcare systems and society.
