Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, presided over the opening ceremony on Monday, March 9, 2026, at World Ballroom B. He also delivered a keynote lecture titled “Strategic Plan for University Globalization and International Engagement.” In his talk, he shared the university’s strategic vision for advancing global engagement, building international collaboration networks, and connecting veterinary knowledge to the development of society, health, and sustainability at the global level.

This year’s conference marks another significant step for CUVC in expanding its collaborative scope to the Southeast Asia Plus region. The event brings together academic experts and professionals from the swine industry across several countries, including South Korea, Japan, China, and Australia, with a focus on in-depth knowledge exchange on disease prevention and swine health management, given that pigs are a key economic livestock species in the region.

The event also includes pre-congress activities held on March 7-8, 2026, at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, focusing on hands-on workshops to enhance practical skills in both companion animals and livestock. The Main Congress, held on March 9-10, 2026, at Centara Grand at CentralWorld, features presentations of research and innovations with real-world application potential under the concept of Translational Veterinary Research, along with collaboration opportunities with industry partners and international organizations.

In addition, the conference features a Veterinary Innovation Pitching competition, providing an opportunity for school students and university students to develop ideas toward business applications. This year, the competition attracted overwhelming interest, with 430 teams submitting entries, which were then selected to proceed through development and presentation stages at the university level.

CUVC 2026, therefore, represents an important platform reflecting the role of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, as a regional hub of veterinary knowledge, aiming to connect research with practical application in order to enhance animal health, food security, and sustainable societal development on a global scale.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
