COVID-19 Preventive Measures for the Royal Commencement Ceremony and Rehearsals 2021-cover

Chulalongkorn University’s Commencement Ceremony for the 2021 academic year will be held on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 November 2022 with rehearsals and group photos taking place between 14 October – 7 November 2022. In this regard, the Sub-Committee for Medical Standards and Public Health has issued COVID-19 Preventive Measures for the Royal Commencement Ceremony and Rehearsals, which are applicable for graduates, staff members and guests who wish to congratulate the graduates. The measures are as follows: 

On rehearsal days/ group photos

Graduates and staff  

1. Have received at least 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations 

2. Check their body temperature and always wear face masks while in the main auditorium and Phra Kiao pavilion. (Removal of face masks during a group photo in the stands is permitted.) 

3. Graduates and staff who have no risk of contracting COVID-19 are not required to take an ATK or PCR test.  

4. For graduates and staff who show signs of respiratory symptoms, fever, or have had high-risk contact with COVID-19 patients, the ATK test may be required at the doctor’s discretion.  

Guests wishing to congratulate the graduates  

1. Have received at least 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations 

2. Should always wear face masks while on campus. 

On commencement day  

Graduates and staff 

1. Have received at least 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations 

2. The following individuals are NOT allowed to attend the graduation ceremony:  

  • Those who have fever or respiratory symptoms (Unless they have received a negative result of ATK or PCR test within the last 48 hours.) 
  • Those who have had high-risk contact with COVID-19 patients within five days before the ceremony 
  • Those who have been infected with COVID-19 for no longer than seven days prior to the event  
  • Those who have been infected with COVID-19 from 4 November 2022 are not permitted to attend if their commencement ceremony is scheduled on 10 November 2022. 
  • Those who have been infected with COVID-19 from 5 November 2022 are not permitted to attend if their commencement ceremony is scheduled on 11 November 2022. 

3. Always wear face masks while in the CU main auditorium  

4. Those attending the event who are positioned in proximity to HRH and personnel attending the ceremony must have their negative result of PCR test within 48 hours before entering the CU main auditorium.  

Guests wishing to congratulate the graduates  

1. Have received at least 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations  

2. Always wear face masks while on campus
