The Institute of Asian Studies (IAS) was set up in 1985 as an interdisciplinary center for research, teaching, and service. The Institute’s clear mission is to be a source of knowledge and wisdom to Thai society and the region. It undertakes and disseminates various research activities in close collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, and international organizations. The center currently houses five research units that aim to promote harmonious, sustainable and just societies amidst the culturally diversified ASEAN and global community.
