朱拉隆功大學醫學院泰國紅十字會新發傳染病健康科學中心研究了一種檢測阿爾茨海默症標記物的血液測試，可以提供10年警告，人們可以據此減緩老年癡呆症的發展。
曼谷2023年1月30日 /美通社/ — 朱拉隆功大學(Chulalongkorn University)醫學院泰國紅十字會新發傳染病健康科學中心(Thai Red Cross Emerging Infectious Diseases Health Science Center)內科神經病學講師、神經退行性疾病生物標誌物項目(Neurodegenerative Disease Biomarker Project)負責人Poosanu Thanapornsangsuth（醫學博士）解釋道：「阿爾茨海默症在出現症狀前有10至15年的潛伏期。症狀出現時，患者可能已經失去了大量的腦細胞，恢復或挽救大腦極為困難。現在，我們有一種醫療技術，可以在退休年齡前檢測出疾病的存在，讓人們能夠照顧自己，遠離癡呆症。」
