チュラロンコン大学理学部はこのほど、油を食べる微生物の研究から海上の流出油を除去するバイオ製品を開発し、環境の持続可能性に向けた産業規模での生産へと拡大する準備を整えた。

残留汚染物質をもたらす大規模な海上流出油は、経済、観光のほか、長期的には海洋に環境有害な影響をもたらす。1つの解決策が、チュラロンコン大学理学部の海洋汚染処理のための微生物学科先端微生物技術センター(Center of Excellence in Microbial Technology for Marine Pollution Treatment)がOnruthai Pinyakong准教授・博士の指導を受け、クリーンテクノロジーを用いて開発した油を食べる微生物バイオ製品である。
