Chulalongkorn University and Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI) have joined forces in academic cooperation to jointly develop a Lifelong Learning curriculum under the CUGS Academy: Lifelong Learning and Interdisciplinary Graduate School, Chulalongkorn University. Prof. Dr. Bundit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Suwanchai Lohawatanakul, Director of the Thailand Productivity Institute, signed an MOU on academic cooperation on Thursday April 27, 2023, at the meeting room on the 7th floor, Office of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University.
At the event, 28 training courses on productivity enhancement were launched with the goal of increasing the potential of students, graduates and people starting their career. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thiti Bovornratanaraks, Director of CUGS Academy and Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Chulalongkorn University, and Ms. Pornpimolpan Duangchaiboon, Manager of Training and Seminar Services Division, Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI), introduced the courses and explained the attendance and portfolio building processes.
This academic collaboration between Chulalongkorn University and FTPI aims to raise the professional quality of new graduates and personnel in the Thai labor sector to a level of greater efficiency by developing a lifelong learning curriculum under the CUGS Academy, an institute and platform to support and promote lifelong learning, operated by the Graduate School of Chulalongkorn University. 28 pilot courses, developed with the knowledge and expertise from experienced experts at FTPI, have been launched to produce new graduates equipped with skills that are in line with the needs of the industry, such as lean process skills, Six sigma, project management, etc. The curriculum also benefits from local and international networks that can support sites for observation and internships for students in the lifelong learning program under this collaboration. Apart from self-development to match the needs of the industry, learners can also accumulate the learning outcomes from each course in the credit bank of Chulalongkorn University and the National Credit Bank System (NCBS) to be transferred for graduation.
According to Mr. Suwanchai Lohawatanakul, Director of Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI) “We have developed 5 areas of the Lifelong Learning curriculum under the Lifelong Learning and Interdisciplinary Graduate School, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI), namely Strategic Management, Customer & Marketing Management, Workforce Management, Self-Development and Operational Excellence. The 28 courses are offered in the form of e-training, onsite workshops, and site visits to real places of business. Learners can expect to gain skills and experiences, as well as accumulate their Portfolio and transfer the credits for graduation. The goal is to increase the efficiency of Thai workers, which will be a great benefit in the future.”
Students, new graduates, and any persons interested in self-development and life-long learning on the CUGS Academy platform can find more information on https://cugs.academy/.
