Chulalongkorn University Holds a Ceremony to Commemorate Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi’s 150th Birthday Anniversary

Chulalongkorn University held a ceremony to commemorate Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi’s 150th birthday anniversary on August 26, 2023, at Daraphirom Palace Museum and Wat Pa Dara Phirom, Mae Rim, Chaing Mai. The event was presided over by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Pirom Kamolratanakul, President of the Chulalongkorn University Council, along with Chulalongkorn University President, Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-Arporn, university executives, administrators of faculties and institutes, and representatives of Chulalongkorn employees and other organizations.  

The commemoration ceremony for Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi’s 150th birthday anniversary included a Lanna-style worship ceremony at Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi’s Monument. Then, the President of the Chulalongkorn University Council placed flowers bearing the initials of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, followed by flowers from Chulalongkorn University, at the monument. Representatives of various organizations also offered flowers to honor Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi. A Lanna-style merit making ceremony followed.  

The afternoon’s event at Wat Pa Dara Phirom, Mae Rim, Chaing Mai, included a celebration and a pha pa or robe offering in commemoration of Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi’s 150th birthday anniversary, with robes presented as an offering from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
