On November 2, 2024, a delegation from Chulalongkorn University, led by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, visited Peking University in the People’s Republic of China. They were welcomed by Prof. Hao Ping, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee at Peking University and Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Gu Tao, Vice Chairman of the University Council; and Prof. Gong Qihuang, President of Peking University.
The executives from Chulalongkorn University and Peking University discussed academic collaborations between the two institutions, including cooperative academic projects, joint research, and faculty exchange programs. Representatives from Chulalongkorn University also presented international programs to promote further collaboration.
On this occasion, Chulalongkorn University executives toured Peking University, guided by students from Peking University’s Thai language program, who showcased significant landmarks on campus.
Since 1988 Chulalongkorn University and Peking University have enjoyed official collaboration, with the Confucius Institute at Chulalongkorn University established in 2006. The institute’s inauguration ceremony was graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a distinguished alumna of both universities, strengthening the relationship that exists between the two institutions.
