Faculty of Nursing Alumni Receives Distinguished Thesis Award from the 18th National Conference on Tobacco or Health

A big congratulations to Flt.Lt. Jatuporn Chalermrueangrong, an alumni from the Master of Nursing Science Program in Nursing Science (Adult Nursing), Faculty of Nursing, who received the Distinguished Thesis Award from the “18th National Conference on Tobacco or Health”. The conference was organized by the Tobacco Control Research and Knowledge Management Center (TRC), Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University during 20 – 21 June 2019.
The award was presented for FLt. Lt. Jatuporn’s research on “The Effects of the Motivation Program to Quit Smoking in Royal Thai Air Force Officers with Non-Communicable Disease Risks”, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Sunida Preechawong. The study was to compare the outcomes of a smoking cessation program based on the protection motivation theory and a brief intervention among two groups of Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) officers, with non-communicable disease (NCD) risks. The paper has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Health Research, Issue 5 (September, 2019).
