Innovative ideas often remain underutilized—documented in research papers, stored in lab notebooks, or overlooked in university archives. At the same time, individuals eager to create meaningful change struggle to find the research or technology needed to bring their projects to life. The gap between those who generate new knowledge and those who apply it remains a key challenge.
CSII Innodating was designed to address this challenge by creating a space where these groups can connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate to turn concepts into practical solutions.
Held on February 3, 2025, at the CSII Digital Auditorium, CSII Innodating was organized by the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII). The event served as a platform for researchers, technologists, and aspiring entrepreneurs to meet and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Participants were grouped into two categories: individuals with innovative ideas, referred to as “IDEAs,” and those with the skills and motivation to implement them, known as “IDOs.” This format encouraged meaningful conversations between people with complementary strengths.
The event was organized by CSII Launchpad, a unit dedicated to supporting researchers in bringing their work to the market. Attendees included participants from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Sport Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Medicine, highlighting the value of cross-disciplinary collaboration within Chulalongkorn University.
By fostering these connections, CSII Launchpad aims to help bridge the gap between academic research and real-world applications, ensuring that promising ideas have the potential to create tangible benefits.
With 90 faculties and departments and 240 professors, Chulalongkorn University offers a rich environment for academic and scientific advancement. However, the diversity and scale of the university can make it challenging to connect researchers with potential collaborators from different fields.
CSII works to address this by creating opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction. Innodating is one example of this approach, providing a space where ideas can move beyond departmental boundaries and find new pathways for development through collaboration.
CSII believes that progress is driven by the exchange of knowledge and the strength of collaboration. Through initiatives like CSII Launchpad, the school supports researchers in translating their work into practical solutions, connects students with industry partners, and contributes to the growth of Thailand’s broader innovation ecosystem.
As BAScii students engage with real-world challenges and CSII Launchpad expands its activities, the goal remains clear: to provide platforms where ideas can grow, collaborations can form, and meaningful innovations can emerge.
