On May 26, 2025, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University, led by Prof. Dr. Kumkom Pornprasit, Dean of the Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Pornprapit Phoasavadi, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, welcomed a delegation from UCSI University, Malaysia, including YAM Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, Chancellor of UCSI University, and Mr. Han Ilkwang, Senior Director.
The purpose of the visit was to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, particularly in the field of music. Both institutions share a strong commitment to the arts and have the potential to cultivate outstanding artists, scholars, and students on an international level.
UCSI University is recognized as one of Asia’s top institutions for music education. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, it was ranked 32nd globally in Performing Arts. UCSI also ranks among the top 100 universities in the world for Tourism and Hospitality, and holds strong positions in other fields such as Art and Design, Petroleum Engineering, Business Administration, and Medicine.
At the subject level, UCSI is also ranked 78th in the world for Humanities and Liberal Arts, 132nd in Social Sciences and Management, and 223rd in Engineering and Technology, and is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide, with a ranking of 265th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
This visit marks the beginning of a collaboration that will include music exchange programs, joint research initiatives, academic development for both undergraduate and graduate students, and a variety of international cultural and creative activities.
The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, looks forward to working closely with UCSI University to enhance academic excellence and create new opportunities for students and staff in the future.
