Chula Creates a Safe Space in “Pride of Chula” at Bangkok Pride 2025 

On June 1, 2025, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, together with executives from the Office of Property Management of Chulalongkorn University, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Mr. Mongkol Wimonrat, Director-General of the Department of Physical Education, and partners from both the public and private sectors, participated in the opening ceremony of the “Bangkok Pride Parade 2025.” The event warmly welcomed everyone to march along together through the Pride District, stretching over two kilometers from Devahasdin Stadium to the Ratchaprasong Intersection. 

This year, Chulalongkorn University once again offered the use of Devahasdin Stadium as a creative space and the starting point of the grand parade. This event symbolizes the strong collaboration between the government, private sectors, and the LGBTQIA+ community. It celebrates and represents the beginning of a new society where everyone has a voice, equal rights, and full inclusion. 

Chulalongkorn University’s grand procession, “Pride of Chula,” marched under the theme “BORN TO BE TOGETHER.” The initiative featured the participation of students, faculty, and alumni, aiming to promote equality in workplaces and educational institutions, acceptance within diverse family structures, genders, and cultures. It also sought to advance policies that support diversity and foster the concept of “Difference in Togetherness” — embracing differences while valuing and living together in harmony.
