On June 5th, 2025, President Wilert Puriwat and the University’s delegation visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In March 2025, Chula and MIT launched the new Chula-LGO program, developed by the Faculty of Engineering and the Chulalongkorn Business School at Chulalongkorn University, in partnership with MIT Leaders for Global Operations (MIT LGO).
President Puriwat and his delegation were welcomed by MIT President Sally Kornbluth. The meeting offered the opportunity for the administrators of both sides to discuss potential academic and research collaborations between the two institutions. On this occasion, President Wilert Puriwat also presented a token of appreciation to the MIT President in recognition of the MIT’s hospitality in hosting this visit.
At MIT, the delegation also met the representatives of the MIT Sloan School of Management, led by Prof. Georgia Perakis, Interim John C Head III Dean. After the meeting, the group toured the Sloan School of Management. They proceeded to the MIT School of Engineering for a meeting with Prof. Maria Yang, Deputy Dean of the School. This was wrapped up by a tour of the Pappalardo Lab. To learn the MIT’s history and culture, the Chulalongkorn University delegates also took a tour of the MIT Museum to explore exhibits showcasing the MIT’s works in science, engineering, and innovation. The tour provided insights into the Institute’s history of research, its impact on global technological advancement, its culture of innovation and public outreach.
On this occasion, the delegation met with the members of the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) alumni community and Chulalongkorn University’s former students who are currently studying at the MIT.
