Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Thailand Post Co., Ltd., has launched the “e-Transcript” system, offering digital academic transcripts through the Prompt Post application—the first initiative of its kind in Thailand. This was announced during the 34th Chula the Impact academic forum, themed “Future e-Transcript, Now Delivered,” held on June 27, 2025, at Room 111, Maha Chulalongkorn Building. The system aims to upgrade the delivery of academic documents to be faster and more secure, accessible anytime and anywhere through a personal Digital Postbox. There are plans to expand this initiative to other educational institutions nationwide, jointly establishing common standards for digital educational documents, and further extending this service to public and private sector organizations in the future. The e-Transcript service is targeted to begin operations in Q3 of this year, with free usage offered for the first six months.
Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, stated that the cooperation with Thailand Post marks a significant step forward, as Chulalongkorn becomes the first university to fully implement an e-Transcript system. The system allows comprehensive verification of accuracy and security, representing a transformation of Thai university registrar services. Moreover, this knowledge will be shared with other universities to support well-rounded and sustainable development.
“Chula is committed not only to developing teaching and learning but also to improving various administrative functions. Among them is the registrar system, where Chula’s Registrar Office has pioneered the concept of an e-Transcript system. This tool will help modernize and streamline registrar operations, reduce processes and waiting times for requesting transcripts, prevent document forgery, minimize data leakage risks, and reassure external organizations that documents issued by Chulalongkorn University are authentic,” Professor Dr. Wilert said.
Assistant Professor Dr. Ake Pattaratanakun, Board Director and Chairman of the Executive Board of Thailand Post Co., Ltd., and Chief Brand Officer of Chulalongkorn University, stated that for the past 142 years, Thailand Post has been a brand trusted by the Thai people. In today’s competitive communications services environment, Thailand Post has differentiated itself not only with speed but also with a digital strategy and vision to build upon its brand success and enhance its service capabilities. In 2025, Thailand Post is confident that its digital business plans and new service model, Prompt Post, will mark a significant step in evolving from a logistics service provider to a platform and data service provider supporting growth in many sectors, thus delivering important opportunities beyond just parcel delivery.
“Trust is the heart of brand growth today, aligning with Thailand Post’s digital strategy, which focuses not only on convenience but also on fostering trust among the government, private sector, and the public through safe, precise, reliable, and internationally standardized services. We are confident that Thailand Post can be an infrastructure partner for organizations undergoing digital transformation, not limited to logistics but also encompassing identity verification, data storage, secure document delivery, and even creating new trust platforms for Thai society in the future,” Dr. Ake added.
Dr. Danan Suphattraphan, President and CEO of Thailand Post Co., Ltd., explained that the e-Transcript service via the Prompt Post application is another channel for university students to request electronic academic transcripts, delivered through a Digital Postbox. This innovation helps modernize the academic document service standards of universities, addressing the needs of students in the digital age while improving data management efficiency for staff. This system is particularly suitable for universities aiming to fully embrace digital transformation.
“The e-Transcript service provides benefits across multiple dimensions, including security and credibility through the prevention of forgery and identity fraud, with encryption supported throughout the process. It offers convenience and accessibility, allowing document requests anytime, anywhere, via any device, and connecting with the systems of recipient agencies. The system integrates with universities and other organizations’ databases via API, enabling real-time data verification. It is environmentally friendly by reducing paper and unnecessary printing, supporting Green University policies, and centralizing data within a single system. All documents are systematically stored in a personal Digital Postbox to prevent unauthorized access, and users can track the status of their documents at every stage, such as request submission, approval, and delivery,” he explained.
Professor Dr. Mana Sriyudthsak, Director of the Office of the Registrar at Chulalongkorn University, explained that the cooperation between Chulalongkorn and Thailand Post in launching the e-Transcript service through the Prompt Post system marks the first time a university in Thailand has elevated its registrar processes to a digital format. This is especially relevant in the context of transitioning to a paperless society and responding to the demand for fast data access. It reduces the risks of document forgery and meets the requirements of recipient agencies, such as private companies, universities admitting students, and even foreign universities, which can immediately verify the authenticity of documents issued via Prompt Post. It also lessens the burden and shortens the process of requesting academic certifications since documents can be requested from anywhere in the world 24/7, eliminating the need to travel to the university. This initiative is seen as the beginning of a new standard for Thai university document systems overall, with services to begin in Q3 of 2025.
“Chulalongkorn is determined to drive the university toward being a leader in creating knowledge and innovation to promote a sustainably developed society, and the e-Transcript service represents another important step in improving the university’s overall registrar system,” Professor Dr. Mana concluded.
