Chulalongkorn University Strengthens Strategic Ties with Universiti Malaya to Expand Global Opportunities for Thai Students

Chulalongkorn University is taking steps to expand meaningful global opportunities for Thai students through strategic academic cooperation with top regional partners. A delegation from Chulalongkorn University visited Malaysia to strengthen ties with leading institutions, with a highlight on a high-level dialogue at the Universiti Malaya—Malaysia’s oldest and one of the most prestigious university.

Chulalongkorn University Strengthens Strategic Ties with Universiti Malaya to Expand Global Opportunities for Thai Students

On July 23, the Chula delegation—led by Professor Parichart Sthapitanonda, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, and joined by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ake Pattaratanakun (Chief of Brand Officer), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sornnate Areesophonpichet, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jessada Salathong, and other senior representatives—held an in-depth meeting with senior administrators from the Universiti Malaya.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Yahaya Ahmad, Associate Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Strategy) of the Universiti Malaya. Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Sanjay Rampal Lekhraj Rampal, Executive Director of the Research Development Department; Mrs. Siti Salwa Md Padzil, Director of the Corporate Communication Centre; Mr. Sanjeev Raj, Mobility Coordinator of the Global Mobility Centre; Mr. Khairul Anuar, Partnership Manager of the International Relations Centre; and other members of the university’s leadership team.

The discussion focused on institutional branding strategies, student mobility and staff exchange initiatives, and possibilities for future joint research. Both universities expressed strong interest in deepening their collaboration through sustained academic engagement. This visit marks a significant step forward in strengthening the longstanding partnership between Chulalongkorn University and the Universiti Malaya—laying a foundation for enriched mutual learning and ongoing academic exchange.

Chula is the place to discover one’s true individuality and the years I spent here were most enjoyable.
