On July 23, 2025, a delegation from Chulalongkorn University visited Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to engage in high-level discussions focused on enhancing international student engagement and collaborative strategies for institutional branding and communication.
Professor Parichart Sthapitanonda, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, led the Chula delegation. Accompanying her were Asst. Prof. Dr. Ake Pattaratanakun (Chief of Brand Officer), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sornnate Areesophonpichet, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jessada Salathong, and other senior representatives—held an in-depth meeting with senior administrators from the Universiti Malaya.
Representing UPM in the discussions were Prof. Dr. Zailah Binti Mohd Suki—Dean, School of Graduate Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halimah Abdul Haleem—Deputy Dean, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dahlia Zawawi—Director, Centre for Corporate Strategy and Relations (PSPK); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Amiruddin Abd Rahman—Deputy Director of Research and Consultation, Centre for Industry Relations and Network (CiRNeT); and Dr. Sudesh Probakhkharan—Deputy Director, PUTRA International Centre (i-PUTRA); along with other members of the UPM leadership team.
The meeting between Chulalongkorn University and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) highlighted shared interests in advancing academic collaboration across several strategic areas. Both institutions expressed strong enthusiasm in fostering joint efforts in language and cultural studies, communication and media, and advanced agricultural technology.
They also discussed the importance of promoting comprehensive research utilization—ensuring that academic outputs lead to practical applications and societal impact.
Additionally, the universities explored opportunities for faculty, student, and staff exchanges, aiming to deepen academic engagement and build sustainable partnerships between the two institutions.
