Chulalongkorn Medical Students Win Big at Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz: IMSPQ 2025 

Students from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, won in both the Individual and Team categories at the 21st  Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ 2025). The competition was held by the Department of Physiology, in collaboration with the Student Affairs and the Student Union of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, on July 16-18, 2025. Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Chulalongkorn University President, presided over the opening ceremony on July 17, 2025, at Room 230/1, 2nd floor, Padtayapatana Building, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University.

The IMSPQ 2025 aims to provide a platform for medical students from around the world to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities in physiology, as well as to foster friendship, collaboration, and cultural exchange among leading international medical institutions. Hosting IMSPQ 2025 is a great honor for the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. It is not only a stage to showcase the potential of Thai medical students on the international stage but also an important opportunity to promote academic collaboration and strengthen good relations among medical institutions worldwide. 

Chulalongkorn Medical Students Win Big at Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz: IMSPQ 2025 

Competing in this year’s IMSPQ competition were 70 teams from various countries, including Thailand, Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Slovenia, Taiwan, and Vietnam, with a total of 409 participants. Of these, 16 teams were from medical institutions in Thailand and 54 teams from abroad. The competition was divided into two rounds. In the preliminary round, a written examination was held on July 17, 2025. The final round took place on July 18, 2025, in which 36 teams with the highest average scores from the written exam competed in an oral quiz. 

In addition, a “Cultural Night” was also held to boost relationships and cultural exchange among medical students from various countries.

  • First Prize: Mr. Chawis Mekrungruangkrai, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University 
  • First Runner-Up: Mr. Zhouyuan Ji, Tsinghua University, People’s Republic of China 
  • Second Runner-Up: Mr. Kritsada Phumpamorn, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University

  • First Runner-Up:  University of Sydney, Australia
