Prof. Dr. Chaiyachet Saivichit, Assistant to the President for Information Technology; and Asst. Prof. Tewarit Sarachana, Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Global Networking, participated in the international academic conference “2025 AI Competency Training Symposium Across Belt and Road Universities” (2025 ACTS) held August 29–30, 2025, at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), People’s Republic of China.
During the symposium, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manoj delivered a lecture on the subject of “From Chalkboards to Chatbots: Navigating the AI Transformation in Higher Education.”On August 29, he highlighted the role of AI in reshaping global education, stressing the importance of human-AI collaboration rather than replacing teachers. He also explored how AI transforms learning through three key dimensions: Personalized Learning, Adaptive Learning, and Generative Learning. His talk further addressed challenges such as maintaining academic integrity, ensuring equitable access, and tackling bias and ethical concerns in AI systems.
Dr. Manoj also shared examples of Chulalongkorn University’s initiatives to drive AI education, including implementing the UNESCO AI Competency Framework for all students, offering online AI courses via Chula MOOC, and fostering AI innovation through projects such as ChulaGENIE, DMIND, DeepGI, and the Chula AI Hackathons. His lecture drew strong interest from international representatives, further cementing Chulalongkorn University’s reputation as a global leader in AI education.
The conference also featured field visits to leading technology companies, including Tsinghua X-Institute, Appotronics, Sangfor Technologies, and Lumi United Technology, where participants explored real-world applications of AI in industry.
Chulalongkorn University’s participation in this international conference aligns with its International Growth and Integrated Growth strategies, while also advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These efforts underscore Chula’s commitment to driving sustainable progress in education, AI, and global collaboration.
