EDU Brass Band from Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Wins Gold Medal at Taiwan International Music Competition Thailand Round 

Chulalongkorn University congratulates students of the Music Education Program, Faculty of Education, who performed as the EDU Brass Band and showcased their outstanding musical talent. The group won 1st Prize (Gold Medal) in the Brass Ensemble – Open Age Category at the Taiwan International Music Competition (Thailand Round), held from October 14–17, 2025, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). 

The EDU Brass Band consists of Thanapol Kerdphol, Weerapat Korat, Thanat Mongkolrerk, Kittitat Suwanduang, Naratorn Sriprasong, and Nattapol Dechraksa. The group is trained and supervised by Wantana Tancharoenpol, lecturer at the Music Education Program, and Paul Archibald and Thunyawat Thangtrakul, special lecturers at the Music Education Program, Department of Art, Music, and Dance Education, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University.

The Taiwan International Music Competition (Thailand Round) featured both on-site and online formats, with categories for solo, duet, and ensemble performances. The competition included various instrumental divisions such as piano, strings, guitar, woodwind, brass, and vocal. 

The EDU Brass Band from the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, has earned the right to advance to the final round of the Taiwan International Music Competition, which will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, from December 27–28, 2025. This prestigious stage brings together emerging young musicians from across Asia, including participants from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, to showcase their musical talent and professionalism. 

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
