Chula Signs MOU for the Chula LGO Dual-Degree Program with Supporting Industry Partners

Chulalongkorn University held a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Chula Leaders for Global Operations (Chula LGO) dual-degree program with supporting industry partners on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Yulania Room, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, delivered congratulatory remarks on this collaborative milestone.

The signing ceremony for the Chula LGO program between Chulalongkorn University and the supporting industry partners began with welcoming remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tartat Mokkhamakkul, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy. They highlighted the objectives and significance of establishing this dual-degree program.

Following the congratulatory remarks by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich, President of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, representing the Founders, expressed their commitment to supporting the dual-degree initiative. Prof. Dr. Wilert then joined industry leaders in signing the MOU, including:

On this occasion, Joshua S. Jacobs, Ph.D., representing MIT, delivered remarks congratulating the partners and outlining future directions for collaboration between the two universities. 

Chula–LGO is a dual master’s degree program established through formal collaboration between Chulalongkorn University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It marks MIT’s first concrete international academic partnership with a university in Thailand. The program aims to develop a new generation of leaders equipped with expertise in engineering, management, and sustainable development. It integrates engineering, business, and organizational management to cultivate well-rounded future leaders who meet the needs of industries in the digital era and global economy.

Graduates of the program will receive a Master of Science in Integrated Engineering for Sustainability (IES) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), along with an official certificate from MIT. 

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
