The Taiwan International Music Competition is a high-standard international music platform that provides opportunities for musicians from around the world to compete and exchange their musical talents and experiences on a global level. This achievement by the CU Brass Ensemble reflects Chulalongkorn University’s strong potential in integrating arts, music, and education through concrete collaboration among the Office of Art and Culture, faculty members, and students from the Faculty of Education.

In preparation for the competition and the development of the ensemble’s potential, the group received intensive training and close guidance from Ajarn Wantana Tancharoenpol, Department of Art, Music, and Dance Education, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, who served as the rehearsal director and played a key role in elevating the performance quality to international standards.

This success also ties in well with Chulalongkorn University’s policy of advancing toward internationalization (International Growth) under the leadership of Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, and with continued policy support from Associate Professor Dr. Yootthana Chuppunnarat, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University. The initiative aims to promote the potential of students and personnel to step onto the international stage through arts and culture. Assistant Professor Dr. Vitchatalum Laovanich, Assistant President for Arts and Culture, served as the team leader in bringing students and faculty members to participate in this competition.

Chula is the place to discover one’s true individuality and the years I spent here were most enjoyable.
