Jiangxi, China—December 29, 2025, A delegation from Chulalongkorn University, led by its President Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, paid an official visit to the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education to explore new avenues for educational cooperation and academic exchange.
The symposium brought together senior representatives from Jiangxi’s education sector, including Mr. Wu Zuowen, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, and was chaired by Mr. Yang Lewen, Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Education International Cooperation and Teacher Development Center.
In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Wu highlighted the enduring friendship between China and Thailand, describing the long-held sentiment of the two nations as “one family.” He underscored Jiangxi Province’s rich cultural legacy and strong educational ecosystem, noting the province’s ongoing efforts to expand international educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Mr. Wu expressed Jiangxi’s interest in developing comprehensive and results-oriented partnerships with Chulalongkorn University, particularly in joint student development, collaborative research, and faculty and student exchanges, to create wider opportunities for youth and academic growth in both regions.
Professor Dr. Wilert introduced Chulalongkorn University’s academic profile, strengths, and global engagement, sharing insights in his dual role as President of Chulalongkorn University and Chairman of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand. He proposed exploring a “China Pathway Program” in collaboration with Jiangxi’s education sector, alongside concrete partnerships with universities in the province. Key areas of cooperation include joint and dual-degree programs, two-way student mobility, youth cultural exchanges, and vocational education initiatives designed to nurture interdisciplinary talents equipped with professional expertise and cross-cultural competencies.
Mr. Yang welcomed the proposed initiatives, noting that they align closely with Jiangxi’s strategy to promote high-level openness in education. He affirmed that the International Cooperation and Teacher Development Center would actively support coordination efforts to facilitate efficient and sustainable exchange platforms for higher education institutions on both sides.
