Chula Reps Head North to Help Flood-affected Villagers in Nan

During 23-24 August 2020, faculty members, staff and students from the School of Agricultural Resources and the Centre of Learning for the Region (CLNR) represented Chulalongkorn University in traveling to Nan province to bring aid to flood victims in Wiang Sa district.

On the first day, the Chula team distributed a total of 1,100 boxes of ready-to-eat meals, 405 packs of bottled drinking water (pack of 12), and 50 kilograms of pork to the villagers in Klang Wiang sub district, Wiang Sa district, Lai Nan subdistrict Administration Organization, Wat Ban Khueng, Ban Pong Sanook, Ban Nong and Tambon Sathan.

On the following day, the team brought cleaning equipment, including brooms, mops, cleaning liquid and powdered detergent to the villagers in the flood-affected areas.

After the water receded, Chulalongkorn University, led by Centre of Learning for the Region (CLNR), together with villagers and several other organizations, entered the flooded area to provide water trucks to spray and clean up the streets and houses.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
