Chulalongkorn University Announcement, Featured News
The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects causing significant economic and social disruption to a large number of people around the world and in Thailand. As an expression of concern for its students, Chulalongkorn University has implemented measures for the reduction of tuition fees and other charges, along with implementing methods of continuous assistance, both short term and long term. Additionally, the University Council at its 850th meeting on April 29, 2021 has passed a resolution approving the reduction of tuition fees and academic charges for the 2021 academic year and the agreement that other forms of assistance be provided as well. The Council of Deans in its capacity as members of the Finance Committee at their 12/2021 meeting held on June 16, 2021 also resolved that students be provided with assistance in terms of tuition fees and other charges during the COVID-19 pandemic as follows:
1. That all students be given a ten percent discount for their tuition fees and academic charges to students of all levels, program affiliations and year of study for the first semester of the 2021 academic year in the semester system or the first trimester of the 2021 academic year trimester system. With the approval of its administrative board, the work section may also consider giving assistance with further reductions or exemptions from that which has been determined in the stipulations mentioned above or to provide scholarships to students as deemed appropriate.
2. In cases where a student has paid the tuition fees and academic charges via the CUNEX system prior to this announcement, the University shall proceed to reimburse the student with the tuition fees or academic charges which have received from the work section to the student via the CUNEX system. As such, the work section should provide the University with a list of student names and transfer the academic charges to the University as well.
3. As for matters concerning the tuition fees and academic charges for the next semester or trimester, the University will announce the measures to be taken at the next opportunity.
