Chulalongkorn Community Unite at “107th Chulalongkorn Anniversary Homecoming: Eternal Gratitude

Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association under the King’s Patronage (CUAA) organized the “107th Chula Anniversary Homecoming” event, with alumni and current students banding together to show their gratitude to Chulalongkorn University and commemorate the royal benevolence of King Rama V, King Rama VI, King Rama IX, and King Rama X. The event, held on March 26, 2024, in the field in front of the Statues of King Rama V and King Rama VI, was filled with unity and solidarity

The “107th Chula Anniversary Homecoming – Eternal Gratitude” was held under the main theme taken from a popular verse of the “Maha Chulalongkorn” anthem.  Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, gave a welcome speech, and Mr. Suttipong Juljarern, Director-General of the Ministry of Interior and the President of the Chulalongkorn University Homecoming 2024 organizing committee, delivered an opening remark. The event was also attended by a guest of honor, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Pirom Kamolratanakul, Chulalongkorn University Council Chairperson.

The homecoming featured performances from both current students and alumni, starting with the “107th Chulalongkorn Anniversary Eternal Gratitude,” a performance by the representatives of CU16 and CU17 alumni groups. Then, the CU16 representatives presented the CU17 representatives with a flag symbolizing the 50th anniversary of their matriculation at Chulalongkorn University, followed by a performance by three generations of Chula students telling their stories from past to present. The evening continued with special activities like a performance of the song “Nai Oon Orm Ok Munkong (In the Warm Embrace)” and a presentation of the Chulalongkorn flag, the CUAA flag, and the flags of Chulalongkorn faculties on the stage.

Apart from current students and alumni, the event also featured artists, celebrities, and MCs who provided entertainment, along with a concert from CU Band, as well as an unprecedented gathering of past and present CU cheerleaders.  The event also featured over 50 food stalls.

Those who attended the “107th Chulalongkorn Anniversary Homecoming” received a limited-edition commemorative t-shirt, a “University” book, and an invaluable handbill to commemorate the establishment of Chulalongkorn University, the first university of Thailand, that has nurtured and produced countless alumni who have gone on to make great contribution to society and Thailand.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
