Special Lecture by Nobel Laureate in Medicine 2013 on His Visit to Chulalongkorn’s Faculty of Medicine  

King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital welcomed Prof. Randy W. Schekman and delegates.

Bhumisiri Mangkhalanusorn Building, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Prof. Dr. Chakkaphan Sutthirat, Vice President for Research Affairs, Chulalongkorn University, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Sittipunt, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Director of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, welcomed Prof. Randy W. Schekman,  Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, USA, Nobel Prize winner in Medicine 2013. Prof. Dr. Schekman was to give a special lecture on “The Role of Public Universities as an Engine for Social Change” in the 4th Japan-ASEAN Bridges organized by Chulalongkorn University, The International Peace Foundation, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.  

Mr. Uwe Morawetz, Founding Chairman of the International Peace Foundation, gave a report at the event, which was attended by Chulalongkorn’s administrators, faculty members, staff, students, and representatives from the government and private sectors and the public.  

Chula’s encouragement and support for research is excellent for teachers, students, and the public.
