Chula Psychology Institute Wins 2025 Prof. Dr. Prasop Ratanakorn Honorary Award

Chulalongkorn University extends its congratulations to the Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS), Faculty of Psychology, with support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation—it has been awarded the 2025 Professor Dr. Prasop Ratanakorn Honorary Award (Social Category—Organization) in recognition of its dedication and commitment to advancing mental health work in Thailand.

Assistant Professor Dr. Nattasuda Taephant, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Director of TIMS, received the award from Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, at the 24th International Mental Health Conference, held on July 1, 2025. 

The Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS) operates with a strategic mission to mobilize social efforts in driving knowledge, innovation, and public policy to foster a sustainable mental health ecosystem. Its key mission includes: 

  • conducting research and data collection on specific mental health issues among the public,
  • generating academic knowledge and social innovation for mental well-being in collaboration with academic and civil society networks, 
  • building and developing multi-sectoral stakeholder networks to advance mental health initiatives, 
  • promoting public awareness and participation in mental health issues through strategic communications, 
  • and supporting the development and implementation of evidence-based public policies on mental well-being. 

TIMS also contributes as a working group or advisor to various mental health policy committees, aiming to translate research-based recommendations into actionable public policy. 

Chula is the place to discover one’s true individuality and the years I spent here were most enjoyable.
