Chula Student Wins Gold at Taekwondo World Grand Prix in South Korea

Chulalongkorn University congratulates Mr. Banlung Tubtimdang, a sophomore student in the Faculty of Communication Arts and a member of Thailand’s national taekwondo team, on winning the gold medal in the men’s under-68 kg category at the Muju Taekwondo 2025 Grand Prix Challenge in Muju, South Korea. 

The finals were held on August 29, 2025, where Mr. Banlung, silver medalist at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships, defeated South Korea’s Jeong Woo-hyeok in a decisive 2-0 match with scores of 13-1 and 21-7. With this victory, he claimed the championship title and a prize of 3.5 million won (approx. 86,000 baht). 

This latest achievement follows his gold medal at the 32nd World University Games “Rhine-Ruhr 2025” in Germany in July.
